More about Lloyd Johnson

Lloyd Johnson knows Sarasota real estate. His 40 years in the Sarasota area as a waterfront specialist-mostly as a broker-owner-bring confidence and focus to the process of buying and selling. Commitment to professional service, built on a core of integrity, is the foundation of his practice. He was awarded the "Special Award" by the Venice Board of Realtors for his "enduring commitment to our professional ideals". In 2020 Lloyd's commitment was tested by the pandemic. His achievement was recognized by induction into the International Diamond Society, which is awarded to agents for distinguished production. He received the designation again in 2021-2023.

Originally from New York, Lloyd first came to Sarasota in 1968 where he lived on Casey Key for almost four decades. In 1980 he became the managing broker of Shaw Realty, and in 1987 he bought the firm to establish Shaw Johnson Realty. At the time it was the 'market maker' for Casey & Manasota Keys. After selling the business in 2001, Lloyd moved his family to downtown taking a sabbatical in 2009. He returned to business in 2013, and has placed his license with Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Southwest Florida's industry leader.

Lloyd earned his bachelor's degree in business administration, and formerly served on a variety of committees, and as a director for the Venice Area Board of Realtors. While on Casey Key he served the community as interim director of civil defense, and as a director for the Casey Key Water Association. Besides real estate, he enjoys outdoor sports including sailing, tennis, and open water swimming.
